It’s lovely. Summer is easily my favourite time of year. I love the green leaves, green grasses, blue skies and warm hot weather.

I have a friend who lived in Sask for more than 10 years, and he said that every time it snowed he felt physically ill, at least partly because there was not going to be any let up until April, partly because people were going to die in the freezing temps.

Reminds me of an old chap who lived in the Cheshire village where my mum grew up, who's favourite saying when someone commented on what a nice summer's day it was used to be: "Yes, but there's nothing but a long, dark winter staring us in the face... and there'll be nothing in the gardens!". We think it was being so cheerful that kept him going!
