Have you got a backup?

Yes
This is a timely reminder as one of the disks in my RAID array has just gone.... Of course the files are safe as usual but it did remind me that I need to backup to external storage regularily!
I have also decided that I am going to print my best work at A3+ and if the worst happens, I will at least have one print...

Yesterday my NAS drive failed, completely bricked, and I lost all my full backups. Nervy time until it gets replaced, hopefully tomorrow!

Local drive copied to mirrored bad for me plus occasional bulk upload to Flickr pro

No! Living on the edge! Just wish HDD prices would return to normality!

I'm backed up to an external hard drive but I also burn copies to DVD and leave at my parents house. No point in having a back up at the same location as you are screwed if your house burns down.

Dropbox, iPad, Laptop, Flickr, and external HDD. I have at least 2 copies of each picture.

I use an Apple Time Capsule. It's good because I don't even have to think about.

There was me thinking of getting a 4GB NAS device and running in RAID1 to replace my current "set up" which is my laptop backed up to a 1TB ext HDD plus two other 1TB ext HDDs.

I've heard several reports of NAS/RAID problems so I think I may just upgrade my 1TB ext drives to 2/3TB and carry on backing up manually.......

Id be cautious burning stuff to DVD

unlike blu-ray

raid mirroring is NOT a backup method, its still one physical copy and has the same pitfalls. you still require a second copy on another physical drive/media to be truely safe.
