Edit My Images
Yes
So took pictures at a gig for the band and after the first 6 pictures I remembered and switched to raw and now I cant open any of the raw images on my laptop only the jpeg images open

How do I view the raw images?

You'll need some software to open them. If you just want to view them then try any of a number of free Raw reviewers (just search google). If you need to edit them then try downloading the free trial of adobe lightroom off their website.

You need to process them, they should open in most editing software.

Umm you should be able to, click on open, change to all files, then try.

Just remembered you need the Sony plug in. Ill have a look for you.

Says could not complete your request becuase it is not the right kind of document

Andy that wont open either, same incorrect message comes up

Click into your c drive and locate the photoshop folder, within this you should find a folder names 'plug ins', click into that and drop that file you just downloaded from the link above into there.

Should do the trick.

Think thats correct, though may be wrong, im a mac user and the process is slightly different....and much easier <3 Mac

Good point bringing that up. :D

To install with Adobe Creative Suite 3 or Photoshop CS3:
1. Exit Photoshop CS3.
2. Open My Computer.
3. Double-click Local Disk (C:).
4. Navigate to: (Please read directory carefully)

Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats

5. Move the existing Camera Raw.8bi plug-in to another location (for example, a new folder on your desktop). Ensure you keep this version in case you need to revert back.
6. Copy the Camera Raw plug-in, Camera Raw.8bi, from the download into the same folder as in step 4.
7. Launch Photoshop CS3 or Adobe Bridge.

Note: If generic camera thumbnails appear in Adobe Bridge, follow these steps:

1. Check to make sure the plug-in was installed in the correct directory in step 4 above.
2. Start Bridge.
3. Choose Tools > Cache > Purge Central Cache.

Important: Purging the Central Cache deletes cached thumbnail information for all folders. It also deletes labels, ratings, and rotation settings for read-only files (for example, files on a CD or locked files) or file formats that don't have XMP support.

You could try Instant jpeg from Raw as quick solution until you get things sorted.

This utility is very simple to use and does exactly what is says, "Instant jpegs from Raw files".

After installing simply right click on your RAW file/s and choose Instant jpegs from Raw.
The program will save them (.jpegs) to a new folder inside the folder contaning your RAW files.

Hope this helps?

Tryed moving the file didnt work

google picasa MIGHT open them.. failing that, download lightroom2 trial version

See with the purging the cache what do I do next?

Once you installed it, you just open them, change the white balance to how you like it, then do you editing you want then save as jpeg.

Get hold of Lightroom 2 (you can download a 30 day trial for free). Trust me it will make your life waaaay easier. You should be able to rattle through the 314 shots withing 20 minutes or so. :)

I will up load it here when you have done that post the link and I will open it for you :)
