Hello from a newbie (to photography at any rate ;))

Hi there,

I've signed up these fine forums in order to learn, and to get to know other folks interested in photography.

I've only been taking pictures (with a DSLR) for about 8 months, previously used a P&S.

Taking up photography was a fortuitous accident as I had bought a DSLR for my ex...we split up and I kept the camera (which to me seems like I got the better deal ).

I have to say I've thoroughly enjoyed using the camera at every opportunity and have sorely missed it's presence on several occasions. :bang:

I currently work as an IT systems engineer, but would love to ditch it in due course for a more rewarding career
