Hello everyone, im still not posting on here very often but i watch and read almost every day.

im having a little dilemma in my head, recently i have found that i am having to cancel my snowboard trip to austria so i have money to spare.

i have had money saved for this and thus going spare now (burning a hole)... anyway, ive been looking to upgrade my nikon d60 and been puttinga little away for that also but never sure if am ready.

Do i:

buy new camera body? D300 D90 or D700 at push!!

New camera lens (35mm) and lightroom 3?

neither and save money?

Also, what is the difference between lightroom 3, lightroom 3 student edition and lightroom 3 upgrade? 3 different prices and is it worth it... im using iphoto on the mac at the mo which seems quite good

sorry for being long and thanks for reading

Hi Mark,

I would say to spend the cash on accesories rather then a body.

So lenses, flashgun, tripods, studio kit etc.

That way our can keep on learning with the D60 and you would be buying gear that will be compatible with any future purchase you may make.

Course, you may have lots of accesories already, in which case, get the body!

Well, it would depend on how much money to be honest! First things first, if you were to upgrade your body, D700 is a full frame so it won't like your dx lenses very much. So if you have a lot of DX lenses you'd have to upgrade those too.

As far as D90 vs D300 goes, it depends what you shoot. Outdoors and in the rain a lot, or sports photography, then get a D300. Want something a bit lighter and not too bothered about the robustness, then go for the D90.

The choice will depend on what money you want to spend. If you're talking about 500/600 then you might be as well pick up some decent lenses. If you're pushing closer a grand I'd pick up a D90/D300 and some nice glass to go with it

And to add... somewhere inbetween those figures I quoted... well, the choice is yours
