I'm trying my best to get a lightroom gallery online and am failing miserably.

I have a bunch of online storage but haven't a clue which to use or even the type that is necessary

Can anyone help out?

I have this kind of stuff available but have tried putting the exported gallery folder in the various folders here but still can't succeed in a working url :(

It is easy if you know your ftp login info for any of your webspace

Just go to edit on the ftp settings in the web sections then put in the addy you wanna upload to and ftp username and password like:

www/gallery = www.yourdomainname.com/gallery - the www (or public_html) just puts it in the right place for browsable files.

I then put a name for the gallery in the subfolder bit, so it would make it www.yourdomainname.com/gallery/photos in how i have it set in the photo

the public_html folder is where you need to put your files

Tried that but no luck at all, the files did show up in the public_html but no luck in figuring out the right url. I tried everything

After both of your advice folks, I'm trying again from scratch....all the above has been tried before but I expect I did something weird..

Thanks very much and I'll report back shortly....

EDIT> Well if my site wasn't down, again, for the fourth time in 2 weeks, I'd attempt the above again.

I think I feel a change of host coming on.....

If the files are there, it may be that the index file has an extension the host doesn't recognise as a default for opening.

e.g. it may be index.html and it wants to see index.htm

LR produces galleries with an index.html file, and IIS doesn't recognise these by default it needs to be set in the config, not sure about other webservers.

try

www.yourdomainname.com/gallery/photos/index.html and see if it appears

If it does, you can simply rename the index.html file to index.htm and that should fix it for you.

Cheers folks! Very appreciated  all sorted now, I was adding too many guesses for the directories and after all your helps, have the right url ;)

ta very much :)
