HELP! No clue what to use

Hi All - I want to make a ' Happy Birthday ' video for a friend. I've seen videos where people take videos of themselves and then that freezes and they jump in again next to themselves and then that freezes and so and so on. I wondered how to do this freeze frame so that it looks like I'm appearing next to myself in my garden and it all looks like one photo? I could use panorama but I'd like it to be moving intitially, like I jump into each letter rather than all frozen.

Hi and welcome to TP. It might help to know what computer you have (PC/Mac) any video editing software, how are you recording the video (Camera or Phone) etc. There could be "an app for that" but it seems to me that you would need some video editing software.

What software do you have access to?

I would use either Premiere Pro or After Effects, to layer the videos on top of each other and mask around each layer to allow the others to show through. If you plan it well before you start filming, it can be really easy to do.
