What is the easiest way to make the dial on my 50D stay where I put it but still be easily changeable.

I find that as I move around I somehow keep changing it from M to ADep or TV etc and if I don't notice in time I lose a lot of shots, especially when it is a fast moving event.

Would putting some blu or white tack on it be a way of solving this problem?

I don't have this camera unfortunately.

Does the dial move by being knocked, or just by moving the camera? If the latter, I would think it woudl be a warranty issue.

nor mine.... In fact it has a very 'definite' movement and I can feel it locate on the setting....

Agree with the Steve and Gary - Never noticed a problem with my dial and having just had a play now to try to change it without knowing, can't say I managed it to be honest.

I've moved mine from AV to manual before. Generally I keep manual at 1/125 and F8 so it's not been too bad. Not very often though.

I had the same problem when using a 5D. I used to put a small piece of insulation tape over the rotary controller and peel it back if I neeeded to move the dial.

the only time this happens to me is when i've stowed it away in a cramped bag. Its never happened whist i have had the camera in use. My fingers dont go anywhere near it etc...

Which is probably when mine moves...
