Hiya folks, I`ve had a bit of disaster here. My laptop died on me and i`m now temporarely reduced to using a wee little noitebook thingy. I`d like to still be able to do my usual photography though. I`ve tried to download Zoombrowser in order to upload photos to my computer but I`m having trouble, it keeps telling me it`s corrupted. What is it exactly I need to be able to upload to my computer straight from my Canon 350D to this Aspire notebook? (windows xp)
I`ve managed to download Gimp ok, that`ll do for processing. Now I just need to get the images onto my computer in the first place.... Help much apriceited apprechea, appreaciat, appreceat... would be very nice :)

Just go to Tesco and get a cheap card reader, I've never used Zoom browser.

When you've done that download Faststone image viewer from Faststone.org

With that you can download and sort the pictures off your card, then do some rudimentary editing, and if needed do batch rename etc.

Thats what I do with my Acer one netbook when I'm away from home :D

If I remember rightly you can't download Canons software, only the update, you need the original disk to start with. There was a fix, I can't remember exactly but I think you changed a registry entry or something like that, never tried it though, and be carefull if you start playing in the registry, it's a bit like brain surgery for beginners...

As above and I would get a card reader as well - will download your photos much quicker than via the camera

Already got one :) Didn`t think of using that! I`ll give it a go and report back..... :)
