Yes
i should now be stating week 2 of my 3 week break
have the same hols every year
however this time ive not gone away. due to my other half not being well and being off sick
anyway shes ok today and as retracted her sick note and is now (sort of ) ok to go away
so can go from this sunday for 2 weeks
the last few years we have been up scotland. glencoe, aviemore, western isles, torridon skye etc
thing is being such short notice my head is mashed trying to find somewhere to go
we like remote places . and we like a remote cottage with coal fire
anyone give me some locations. nice scenery and good for landscape photography
would like to try somewere new

You need to head south rather than north this time of the year, if only to gain more daylight. Have you been to the Scilly Isles? longer days and milder climate, can reccomend it ;)

was down cornwall in april. infact not far from the heliport

i love the cold winter days up scotland, they are a bit short
but after being out all day its nice to come home and get the fire roaring

Try Applecross if you like remoteness. Stunning area with with outstanding scenery! A long drive, but well worth it.

nice place
stayed just outside torridon last year and went up to applecross
i want to go back to western isles or inner isles
but as i cant quite do a full 2 weeks its difficult to organise

:agree: What Nigel said above. i would suggest the Lake District, pm Lynton on here, I believe he has just returned from a wee holiday there and could suggest where to go. Iain

South Glamorgan in Wales or Northumberland.

That's my 2012 holiday plan! Camera being taken of course! :)

Look at St Just in Roseland

Glad I live in Devon

I'd head south for slightly better weather (although the south west seems to be coping it at the moment).
How about Looe - just over the border into Cornwall, with everything cornwall has to offer.

Cheap accommodation - try these log cabins.

Really warm, good location 5 mins drive out of Looe. We stayed here in half term, very nice and secluded and easy to get to most stuff.

PM me if you want the owners direct contact details.

thanks for all the help
i live in wigan. the start of the lakes are around 80 miles for me. so i spend a lot of time up there .
we have started going cornwall around April. before all the tourist arrive .
jesr thanks for that link. didnt realise all that was on my doorstep. ill have to investigate. only about 30 mins drive for me
not too bothered about mild weather, cold ice and snow are great
last dec in the torridon area it was about 4-5 foot deep in snow. blue skys all day and spectacular pinky sunsets
so thats why i love scotland
could play it safe and go back to a location we been to before, but would like to go somewere new
was thinking maybe perthshire
