Hey guys!

Happy christmas to start off with. I have a slight problem and just would like to know your oppinions and views. I ordered a photobook from myphotobook on the 16th of december and it was delivered earlier, great, however some of the pages have turned out very very dark

Some pictures i have taken of water which were bright blue have been printed in like a navy colour.

What are my options?
Do i reject the photobook be with out it and send it back?
Ask for the poor pages to be reprinted
Or something else.

I would like to know what you would do or if you have had any similar dealings with companies like this.

Thanks
Dylan

It may seem simple, but had you calibrated your monitor when you were looking at the images before you were sending them to be printed?

Funnily enough i had exactly the same problem with the same company, so i emailed them explaining the problem, to cut a long story short they told me to send the book back, they have now checked the book and agreed it wasn't up to scratch although a couple of the pages were falling out to, so they have asked me to upload the book again making lighter the pages i wasn't happy with which were on the darker side, they also have said they would either credit me with the return postage or put it back on my debit card, so just do what i did and see how you get on, also when you send the book back send recorded delivery, it cost me just over £8 as they are based in Germany,and they are happy to refund this amount, i haven't had chance to upload the book again yet but hopefully over the next couple of days, just to add to this i wanted to give this company the benefit of the doubt as i had heard very good things about them, and up to now their communication has been very good answering my emails very promptly, the person to address your emails to is Maria Stuart, she has dealt with me very well, i hope this helps :thumbs:

If its not waht you want reject the book, im not to sure on the prosess or if they even would do it. they may turn round and say it was the quality of your photo.
let us no anyway

I think monitor calibration is the place to start. If you're not calibrated then it could well be that the printed shots are how they actually look and it's your display that needs correcting. Post a couple of the shots that printed dark here so people can give their opinion on the brightness.

Of course if your display is calibrated and you used a good colour managed workflow then I would return the book explaining you're not happy with the results which don't come close to matching your calibrated display.
