Never printed anything, but its a mates birthday soon and I recently took this of his car

I've not done anything to it in terms of PP and obviously it will need a crop..

but is this good enough to be printed ? how big can I sensibly go ?

where is best for having prints like this done, need it in about a week.

With the slight crop you need you could go 8 x 12 (or double that if you lower the PPI), it all depends on where it will be displayed.

Do you want a cheap print or a decent fine art print?
 
Something good enough to hang on the wall, doubt if it'd stand up to very high quality printing.

8x12 sounds okay, I just wanted to crop out the car on the very left.
How much do I need to crop for 8x12 ? I don't get the whole resolution to physical size relationship
 
what editing software do you use? You can crop with the correct ratio on them but i dont know how to do it any of them other tha photoshop. As long as the pic resolution is 300dpi you should be fine for printing, just give the file to the printer once its cropped and it should work out just fine
 
Just make sure the 2:3 ratio is maintained, so one side is 1.5 x the pixels of the other.

If you go for A4, it's then 210:297 which is 70:99 which is near enough 7:10
