I'm in the process ,or i should say trying ,to install AVG anti virus .Up untill a couple of days ago i had a free trial of Avast ,i no longer have it ,but it's left a legacy ,everytime i try to download a file or indeed AVG this comes up..http://download663.avast.com/iavs4pro/setupeng.exe. I'm absolutely crap on computers ,can anyone give me SOME idea please :bang::bang::bang:
 
Although your trial has run out you will need to uninstall AVAST. Go to control panel - add / remove programs and remove Avast first before installing AVG.

Avast has been uninstall from my comp ,i've checked and double checked ,the computer wont let me open or save any downloads ,i'm stressed that i've no protection on my desktop at the moment .I' on the verge of launching the bloody thing oot the window :bang:
 
Could it be firefox thats doing the blocking :shrug:,i've just recently chainged to the latest version
 
Ok just checking. What is it that actually comes up when you try and download a file using Firefox? What error do you see on the screen?

Yep same thing again,....i wonder ,would a vertical landing from 30ft work :D seriously though,if i wasn't so sh##e on computers i wouldn't be in this quandry
 
It does sound like trying to download something fires up the Avast link.

Can you try right clicking on the A/V link and doing 'save as'? How did you uninstall Avast?
