Yes
Can someone tell me what went wrong please.
The depth of field seems to be all over the place.
Bottom left of pic and both sides of the mushroom cap, just dosnt look consistant. Its as if the lens is skewed.

It's fine. The lens isn't skewed, but the subject is. Imagine DoF as a flat pane of glass fixed square to the lens. As you tilt the camera, the pane shifts and will fall on different areas of the subject.

Thanks for your help Richard, off out now for another go

Hi Gary

It looks OK to Me a slight sharpen may help, its mainly the points I was talking to you about yesterday whilst we were out, and it was as very dark under those trees so that doesnt help

Hi Richard

Yes we were explaining focal plain , and DOF, to Gary yesterday whilst shooting this shroom

Don't know the answer as new to digital but if I was taking the shot on film I would be getting more depth of field to ensure mushroom all in focus?
