This forum is friendlier than most, believe me.

Thats just the way it is with life on the internet, just as in real life you ignore those around you that are muppets and talk to those you want to talk to.

Stick with it, you'll enjoy it here

EDIT: actually, I just read your other posts, apart from calling someone a smart ass for giving you correct info, you seem to just be starting random threads about what camera to buy for a complete novice and then how you are going to start a photography business... that never goes down well here for good reason ;)

Agreed- This is one of the more user friendly forums around  you'll get idiots where ever you post, irrespective of forum

I doubt MOST people in here start an argument fella

Les :D

I would like to apologise if I have offended anyone I really want to learn about photography that's y Iam here

I'd suggest you sit back, browse and use the forum search rather than keep starting threads and as said, when someone offers you an informative answer don't call them a 'smart arss'. :nono:

New to forums or not, there's a right way and wrong way to behave on them.
Might be a good idea to familiarise yourself with the rules just to avoid any further issues. ;)

Also, maybe a mod could move this to forum discussion and remove the NSFW prefix.

Wozzzaah I will listen to u and read up on things thanks for your advice and yes Ian on my iPhone so I don't no why

If you want to learn about photography why the Hell are you thinking of setting up a business in an industry you know nothing about? What other response did you think you would get from people that have spent years leaning an art when you think you can just but a camera and there is nothing more to it. We are all happy to give advice here but you clearly dont think there is any skill in photography which to me is simply insulting. I tell you what go and by yourself a football and then call yourself a footballer.

In the nicest possible way I have to agree with andy - you are totally new to photography, don't know which camera to buy (but are considering a 400D), dont even know how to crop or resize a photo (Or even the difference) but you are going to start a buisness selling photo keyrings at events (despite many experienced photographers saying that thats a non starter) and you wonder why people are having trouble taking you seriously ???

My advice is learn about photography first - then when you know what you are doing (ie in at least a year but probably more) start thinking about business ideas, but try to come up with a serious model and take advice on board rather than taking offence when people dont agree with you

and by the way - if you want to make small images for key rings etc, you dont need a camera that out puts them to that size and prints them without a computer- you use a normal DSLR then resize the image using an action in photo editing software (like photoshop) and print it with a dye sublimation printer - the fact that you don't even know that doesnt fill me with confidence in your business model

I dont think anything we say will make a difference. He will set up this "business " despite not having a clue what he is getting in to and when it does not work... Which it wont he will be on to the next "easy money" scheme. Ok maybe i am wrong and maybe he will work hard and this keyring business is going to be the next big thing in photography.

Let us all take a deep breath ;) Ok mrwardle looks like you are all set with a new camera, you will get more help on here than you can cope with if you start at the begining  Practise with said camera and start posting some pictures up here for peoples comments, posting a picture here can prove difficult for a lot of new people in itself and that is just the begining. You are going to make a lot of mistakes along the way like all of us have done and a good percentage of us still do. It would be all our dreams to start a business off in photography no matter how small, but the reality of it is it aint going to happen overnight. So like I say take one step at a time and listen to the advice people give as the majority are speaking from a vast amount of experience.

This is generally a friendly forum, but you've had your fair share of experience in just a short time.

You've started 6 threads already and 50% of them are now locked so you definitely have a talent for can opening. Have an honest think about what Andy's said above, do you really think that if you went on any forum for professionals you'd have got a better response?

Come on guys, chill out. It's not setting a good example to other new members seeing threads degenerate like this.
One of the mods has already had a word with the OP about his other threads and tidied them up.
He's here to learn and he's apologised for offending anyone so there's no call for any further flaming eh? :nono:

What flaming ?

Everyone in this thread seems pretty calm, If the OP is really here to learn then he needs to start listening to the advice hes being given - not least that its not a great idea to start a business with no experience or knowledge in the feild.

Personally I'm quite happy to give the OP ther benefit of the doubt if he starts to act like a propper member - many of us had rocky starts after all :whistling: - but starting threads like this doesnt encourage me to hold my breath on that eventuality

Very good to hear. On that basis i am sure many people will be happy to help you with your photography and anything else you would like to learn.

Out of curiosity, mrwardle, have you seen one of those MAKE ££££ FROM PHOTOGRAPHY WITHIN A WEEK!!!!, NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!!! ads? When I become World Dictator (about next Tuesday), the owners of such sites will be first against the wall.

Photography is a hugely competitive industry. Only the best, hardest working photographers make a decent living at it. And it doesn't, on average, pay much, whatever you may hear. "See that Lamborghini? It belongs to the photographer!" is not phrase you hear often. (Anyway, mine stays mostly back at the mansion as there isn't much room in the boot for kit) ;)

Great post. I was on the website of a largish event photography company last week and one of the things they advertise as part of the £20k franchise is that you would have "no competition" .... See it must be easy. (my butler typed this for me as i dictated)
