Based in Northern Ireland close to Newtownards and was pointed here as a great forum for advice. Looking forward to picking everyones brains and hopefully helping out once i get more experience

Welcome. Tell us a bit more about yourself. What do you like taking photos of, how long have you been into photography, what kit have you got etc?
Plenty of good stuff on here, very helpful members
 
I started taking lots of sports like fell running, cyclocross and other cycling events. This has been great fun but has led me into trying portraits and other event photography like fetes etc. Got a Nikon D500 and looking to improve my flash photography as well as post processing work. Currently only using lightroom by playing with presets so much to learn.

Thanks for the warm welcome - hopefully get a few photos up soon for critique
 
Good start :) Lightroom is a brilliant App, I'm a bit of an evangelist on it having used it from version 1.
It's a full workflow application, not just for editing. The libray module is often overlooked yet makes accessing/indexing your images really easy. Essential when you have several in there.

It's worth going through the simple 5 min overviews to each section to give you an idea of the workflow, then you can move onto specifics.
