Hi all,

Been dabling in photography on and off for a number of years but have decided to try and take it a bit more seriously. Current kit includes

Canon EOS 5D
Canon 24 - 105mm F4 L IS
Canon 100 - 300mm F4.5
2x Converter
Various filters
Centon Flash

I'm saving for a 400mm (or greater) lens for wildlife photography, any recommendations greatly appreciated...
Currently I do not use and software other than for cropping purposes although I'm thinking of having a play with photoshop elements at some point.

You'll learn alot on here, with regard to a 400mm plus lens for wildlife the canon 400mm f/5.6 gets good reviews and can be handheld, cost around £1100 new i think but can get a bargain second hand, other option could be the 300mm f/2.8 with your TC'S looking at £2500-£3000 for 2nd hand or new. after that your looking at +£5000, sigma 500 f/4.5 Canon 400mm f/2.8 500mm f/4 600mm f/4 or if you have a spare £10,000 :nuts: there is the beasty 800mm f/5.6.

The 100-400mm canon zoom is also popular. I use the 400mm f/2.8 with the 1.4 and 2.0 TC'S and it handles them easily (one at a time not both).
