For what it's worth I could never tell much difference between the mk3 and mk4 (but I don't typically shoot birds in flight or similar)
Thanks DD (I think it might have been your iii that I bought). Fast-moving subjects are not my thing, either, so I may get another.

Very nice wildlife capture Mike, I've never yet seen one of these in real life and would really like to. Even though I'm not into birds I do appreciate good photography of them.

Absolutely! Nice shot especially at iso12800 - my RX10 runs out of puff at around iso800 which is one of its main drawbacks... Never even knew there was a 150-600 for Fuji - looks like a beast of a lens!

It is mate. I ran this through PureRAW 2. Terrific for noise reduction.

I keep hankering after a 'real' lens for wildlife stuff (eg a Tamron 100-500 for my A7Rii) but I can't convince myself I'd be committed enough to lug it around... been spoiled with the RX10 which is just so easy to use. Will ponder for a while then probably do nothing

Very nice wildlife capture Mike, this is one of the only birds that I've wanted to snap but at this moment in time I've never even seen one in the wild.

The Mk3 RX10 is great and not wildly expensive (second hand only now as the Mk4 is current) - there's compromise in everything photographic as I'm sure you know but you could make a strong case for one of these as a 'one size fits all' cameraGreat shot.

Pushing it to the limits here - iso800 and only 1/125 at f4 and 600mm equiv - also a big crop for good measure! Looks ok if you squint a bit and take a couple of steps back from the screen
