Is that on the cards? Sounds intriguing...Of course, IF Fuji come up with an equivalent single zoom, a fresh option opens up.
TFS - that’s weird about the lens isn’t it. I wonder if it’s just a rebadging of the same thing?Rumours guy posted pics of the new camera on YouTube

Right after I published the latest video a source sent me the first image of the Sony RX10V. Here it is for you to enjoy ;)youtube.com
He says it's the same lens but it's quite clearly a different focal range from his picture
Also looks like the flash is gone and a rather new body design
Yeah not sure...TFS - that’s weird about the lens isn’t it. I wonder if it’s just a rebadging of the same thing?

Ah right - got you nowNot as far as I know - just wishful thinking on my part!
Since Sony have done it, albeit for a smaller sensor, it's obviously possible but not yet been done. Closest is a pair of lenses but even then, you lose a little at the wide end (18-135 + 100-400).
Well we’ll find out today at 3pm but apparently the lens is the same but they now need to quote the focal length before lens correction. Kind of makes sense I guess - we shall see!TFS - that’s weird about the lens isn’t it. I wonder if it’s just a rebadging of the same thing?
Similar situation here, although I must be honest I don't think I've ever used the top screen - forgot it was there in factDefinitely a wait and see at that price, my mk4 is relatively unused so I’m in no rush to part with said cash for same lens and sensor atm. Top screen gone too.
Yes - I might get a rush of blood later in the year or if I decide to abandon my foray into M43 and cash all that out but I'm not quite there yetIf launch prices is £2,200, I'd expect it to drop a reasonable amount over the next few months. At that point, I might be tempted (at closer to £1,750 or so!)
£2200 for a bridge camera. Crazy price
it is i guess but then it has no competition and it was £1800 8 years ago so with inflation its probably about right£2200 for a bridge camera. Crazy price
I'm not sure of the point of it tbh, bridge cameras are pretty obsolete nowadays and with the same 10 years old sensor ........If launch prices is £2,200, I'd expect it to drop a reasonable amount over the next few months. At that point, I might be tempted (at closer to £1,750 or so!)
Yes id agreeYes agreed unfortunately... according to one site the $ price is exactly the same as if you inflation adjust the launch price of the Mk4 but that is not much comfort! TBF almost everything else apart from the lens and sensor has been improved and they were already very good... Don't think I'll be in a massive rush to find £2.2k though - probably wait a bit and try for a cheap(er!) import.
I DI'm HOPING it's sub £2,000 but expecting it to be over (at launch), dropping a bit at the end of summer.
I'm also HOPING that my iii lasts until the v IS sub 2!!!
Of course, IF Fuji come up with an equivalent single zoom, a fresh option opens up.
It may well not be as popular as it was 8 years ago so price may quickly dropLook on the bright side; those who can't resist the new shiny toys could be adding their current models to the s/h market bringing those prices down.

I'd be surprised if its over £2K, i am guessing more £1.5-1.7K-ish
excellent shots, its a very capable cameraThree shots taken with the rx10 iv, playing with a comma butterfly.

Pete - not sure I would say they are obsolete? Have a browse through the thread and I would hope you’d agree that they can produce decent images (wildlife/landscape/macro etc) and the all-in-one solution is great if you value convenience as many of us doI'm not sure of the point of it tbh, bridge cameras are pretty obsolete nowadays and with the same 10 years old sensor ........
Oh absolutely, what meant to say is they've stopped being produced till now for some years, i've had all the rx10s at some point or another, its quite probable i'll get this one down the road at some point.Pete - not sure I would say they are obsolete? ah right - ok I have got you nowOh absolutely, what meant to say is they've stopped being produced till now for some years, i've had all the rx10s at some point or another, its quite probable i'll get this one down the road at some point.
I probably will but not immediately - maybe in 6 months when the price is (hopefully!) a bit lower and cheaper imports become available (eg via Cotswolds)Are you getting the v?
Yes i wouldn't pay full wack for it, cotswold will have them at some point at a cheaper priceI probably will but not immediately - maybe in 6 months when the price is (hopefully!) a bit lower and cheaper imports become available (eg via Cotswolds)
Anybody used one of these? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sigma-Macro-72-01-18-300-F3-5-6-3/dp/B00NIHBN0S/ref=pd_ci_mcx_mh_mcx_views_0_title?pd_rd_w=VS2HF&content-id=amzn1.sym.0ce71b21-dc90-4d01-9398-0ec2dddae2f7:amzn1.symc.30e3dbb4-8dd8-4bad-b7a1-a45bcdbc49b8&pf_rd_p=0ce71b21-dc90-4d01-9398-0ec2dddae2f7&pf_rd_r=WZMDK7BM7T9S6X8YMN8J&pd_rd_wg=GtJs8&pd_rd_r=e54ff3d3-12e5-4caa-901a-e8c24837c688&pd_rd_i=B00NIHBN0S
I believe it should slightly reduce the minimum focus distance (eg from around 70cm to 50cm at 600mm ffe) - it's 72mm and nice and light so on the face of it seems like a good macro option. I saw a few nice looking shots on FB with it and it piqued my interest![]()
Thanks - I’ve tried a few myself and not had much success but I think I’ll give it one more try as getting a really good close up is probably the only thing I need my ‘big’ camera forNot a Sigma one but I have used close-up "filters" like the one in the link. Bought a proper macro lens shortly afterwards! IF there was a Raynox available for 72mm, it might be worth a punt but the "filters" seem to introduce significant CA.
Fair enough - as I say, I've had a fair few goes at getting a good close-up with the RX10 but I used to shoot with various dedicated macro lenses so my expectations are probably too high! I've got an Olympus 60mm at the moment which is very small and easy to use but I'm not sure it's the best so my dilemma is whether to invest in a better lens for my Olympus rig or try and get a bit more out of my 1 incherThey're better than nothing BUT...
These days, I tend to use a compact for close ups at shorter distance than the 10 can manage - my old X-30 (Fuji) does a pretty good job.

I think your best results are with your Olympus gear, achromats are ok but no match for a dedicated macro lens Mike. I am thinking of upgrading my G80 for the G9 for macro.Fair enough - as I say, I've had a fair few goes at getting a good close-up with the RX10 but I used to shoot with various dedicated macro lenses so my expectations are probably too high!
