Hilbre Island

Hi Jerry,

Although I used to live across the water from it (directly in view of it), it's not somewhere I ever got around to visiting...

THIS may provide a bit of useful information though.

If you want a bit of practice beforehand though, I'd definitely recommend a trip to the RSPB reserve at Ynys Hir first though... Plenty of hides and other locations to shoot from and very helpful staff there too. :)

Thanks for the info about Hilbre Island.

I know Ynyshir (and some of the staff) very well - in fact I used to work there! What I'm looking for is a location in Wales preferably where you can get really close to birds like waders on an estuary - or rather they can get really close to you as you shelter in a hide.....

Hehe... Trust me to go teaching my grandmother to suck eggs! :D

I might take a drive up to Ynys Hir this afternoon for a bit of a mooch about... Might as well get the most from my RSPB membership! ;)
