Hi peeps, wondering if anyone can help me, im buying a set is these filters, and ive noticed they do the standard holder with 1,2,3 slots and a 105mm ring for cp's ect and they also sell a wide angle holder but with 1,2 slots but with no 105mm ring. Now my question is i want to use the filters on my siggy 10-20mm and also use a b&w 10 stopper also, but how do i go about attaching the b&w filter? do i buy the standard holder or the wideangle holder, would the standard with ring cause me any vignetting ect....:help:

Thanks Andy......

The 105mm filter ring fits on the front like this...

Don't know how the big stopper works - personally I'd can that, and just get a decent B&W 77mm instead, attach that to your lens, then the Lee rings to the B&W filter ND filter.

Not having used the Sigma 10-20 lens can only relate my experience with the Canon 10-22, but should be similar. Found I needed the W/A adapter with the Lee holder with ONE slot plus the 105mm ring. If I used the B/W 10stop filter as well I used a 105mm to 77mm FLAT reducing ring to fit in the holder ring.
Hope that makes sense, I could not envisage using any more than two filters at any time.

If you're getting the Lee system anyway, I would get the Lee Big Stopper ND to go with it.

The reason being a) it's better than the B+W (which is bit orange), and b) when you're using a dark ND you'll find that you want to take it on and off a few times while you're setting up.

You can just clip the Lee adapter on and off very easily, or slide the filter up/down. But doing that as well as unscrewing the B+W will be a PITA.

Hi Richard,
That's why I bought the 105mm to 77mm flat adapter so I could just unclip the Lee adapter with the B/W 10 stop fitted to it. I do not get the orange tint, but I suppose each filter batch is slightly different.

Do you not get the orange tint? It's not strong, a kind of copper-ish tone, but enough to need correcting in post processing. This has been widely reported for a long time now. Is your filter very new?

The Lee is very slightly blue, but maybe only a quarter the amount blue to the B+W's orange, if you follow. Close enough to neutral to leave uncorrected IMHO.

I agree about the quick-clip on-off facility of the Lee adapter. It's a really useful feature :)

Hi,
Yes fairly new, I bought it from Kerso. He dose not seem to advertise that he sells them though. No tint as far as I can tell ! As I already had 5 or 6 Lee holders I fitted just the 105mm ring to start with on one of them and had a
105mm to 77mm adapter made by SRB (think that's their name) as they make a flat adapter found it worked OK then added a single slot in front of that. Cannot see why more filters would be required with a 10 stopper.

Hmm the way I have this going on my Canon 7D is I use the WA adapter, and mount it on the B&W 10 stopper. However, one feature which does help me interms of composition with the 10 stop filter on is to use the LIVE view mode function of the camera, at F2.8 and ISO3200 it gives me enough of a picture to see what I am doing.

Cheers,

is that picture the hitech holder
i have the hitech 85s and was going to order the holder, but never seen a picture of them
it looks very much like the lee holder
have you got a pic of the holder complete
was thinking of getting the 100s but waiting for 5d mk1 and 17- 40 to see how the 85s are
im guessing the holders 85 & 100 are the same apart from size

if i go for the 100s undecided the lee holder or hitech one

oh and what make is that polariser you got
