Hi im going on holiday and was checking out holiday insurance and most just seem to have (hidden in the depths of there terms) single item cover of around £150. This seems a bit usless if i take my 5D mk II and 24-105 lens. Does anyone recommend a good insurance company in case i had to claim.

thanks Dave

Ring your home contents insurers and ask them to cover the kit for the full value of the lens/body away from the home. They should be able to do it as a specified item. Check it's covered away from the home and for all risks/accidental damage.

If you haven't got that type of insurance then you may have to just trawl the market. Most seem to have a single item limit of £200-£300 for electrical equipment.

Hello.

It seems a lot of people on here use Photoguard, just do a google search or search the forums to find out what people think about them.:)
