...fancy a hard case for my nifty fifty. I like just taking a toploading case in my climbing bag with my 18-200 to the front. Sometimes though the extra couple of stops of the 50mm are great for camp shots in the low light. The rest of my kit is in a small tupperware box (remote shutter release...rocket blower...spare cards etc.). It negates the need to carry a proper camera bag when im just going for a day climbing...find them bulky and a pain in the arse.
So i went to B&Q and found myself the perfect piece of piping which fits the lens in perfectly...i then glued on a lip from a tennis ball bottle...hey presto, a really solid case which can sit anywhere in my back without getting dust or damage on the lens. Perfect. There is also space at the bottom for two filters.
Has anyone made a similar thing?
