Yes
Or how do I know if its calibrated already? If it is not what device/software should I get and where do I get it from?

Thanks!

Unless you suspect that someone else has recently calibrated your monitor on the machine you are currently using then you will need to calibrate it. You can calibrate monitors using either hardware or software options though I understand that the software options will not produce as accurate or consistent results as using hardware. One thing to consider is what adjustments the monitor allows you to make. Having the ability to adjust the levels of the red, green and blue (RGB) manually would be an advantage though I believe it is possible to calibrate monitors that don't have this capability but someone else will need to comment on the accuracy of the results.

There are various devices out there you could use. Here's a link to a site that discusses things further as well as a list of (most) of the popular makes available.

One other thing to consider is that it isn't a one off thing. Monitors (both CRT and LCD) need calibrating regularly.
