How do I do this?

I guess OP didn't comment because it is kind of obvious ?-)

I would do this in PS, create a layer where you do the mask, for mask create a single polaroid frame out of rectangle shapes, fill it in then multiply it to cover the shape of the image and paint all outside area of the image. Then use this as mask on the original image with a white background layer (or white layer with the mask with the original image as a background). The ball I guess was a cut out of duplicate layer to the main image.

Does anyone know how this is done?

It is a pic made up of polaroid snaps.

It is shown in this thread, but the OP ignored queries on how he done it. Would like to try myself:

OK... diluted version...

They are not polaroid snaps; just the 'idea' of polaroid snaps; you can either build up another layer with 'solid' areas (ie drag a template already created on top of a transparent layer, and keep dragging that template over and over again, repositioning as you go); keep in mind the original image underneath is intact, and then collapse all layers into one... oh, and the 'fruit'; that just comes from the original and saved as another image but with all the background cut out/erased/transparent and then collapsed on top of the whole thing...

Relatively easy to do, but the trick is when you start to play around with each individual 'photo' making them appear misaligned, larger than some etc; now THAT takes time, and would make for an interesting image...

thanks, chaps.

Gonna give this a go over the weekend.
