I'm looking to buy a new computer and would like to save all my Favorites to transfer to my new pc. Is there an easy way of doing this please.
Thanks
Dave

Use windows easy transfer to save everything you might need all in one go or just find the folder on your hard drive called Favourites and copy it to a backup. paste the contents back into the favourites folder on the new PC.

What browser do you use? If its firefox, you can export them (I am sure you can do the same in IE actually...)

If you use google chrome you favourites are on the cloud, so no need to save

Thanks Guys, appreciate your help.
I'm using IE

Depends on what version of Windows and if your system folders are hidden... You used to be able to right click on the Start button and Explore... to see where your favourites folder was, but in Windows 7 you dont get the option to Explore...

If you click on Start > Run and type in a . (fullstop) and press OK, it should take you to the location of your favorites folder. If you don't see it, it's probably hidden, so you need to open My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab and look for and tick "Show hidden files, folders and drives" or also untick "Hide protected operating system files".
You should see you favorites folder which you can then copy to a different location as a backup.

Thanks Viewfinder using XP found Favorites folder so will copy to a different location.

You can download 'windows easy transfer' for XP from the Microsoft site.

Windows 7 machines come with it installed.

Microsoft give directions for use on their site, but essentially hook the old and new machines together, via a network for example, then run 'windows easy transfer'.

All your settings, files, etc, will be transferred from your XP machine to the Windows 7 one.
