Not just "a bit" slow, a LOT slow. Looking on CPUbenchmark.net, that processor has a benchmark score of 494 (see: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=Intel+Pentium+4+2.93GHz). That's slower than the current netbook range of processing (N550 comes in at 564). A basic spec laptop will be 1500+ on that scale and a top of the range desktop will be around 10000....

We've still got a load of p4 boxes at work, while they're all a bit old and smelly they're not bad for office tasks. Wouldn't like to photo edit on one though.
