Hello,

I am about to sell my faithful Canon 600d but need to attend to it's peeling rubber rubber issues first. The whole lot around the HDMI input is currently loose and flapping about.

I have tried double sided tape but had no luck. I'm thinking of modelling cement (for plastic models) but not entirely sure that's a good idea.

Can you please offer me some advice.

Thank you

With my Nikon(s) I've had the rubbers replaced before. You might be able to pick up the individual rubber piece/section and replace it yourself. I found once the rubbers start to expand they're a pain to fit back down.

Hard to understand why anyone would make a camera where the protective rubber grip was the weakest point.
They must know they have a very limited working life before the started selling them.
Earlier generations of camera covers lasted virtually for the cameras life, of more than fifty years or more.

Plain old superglue worked for me when similar happened on a previous body.

Thanks all - i'll give the superglue a try.

Superglued my sisters 6D and a 1D3 , it doesnt come off now :)

Might be a bit tricky if they ever need a repair though, haha.

I've bought replacement grips for a Nikon F5 and D2X in the past when they started coming loose. Depends if you want a quick fix or a proper job really.
