Well...
I've had my rant about cra**y email clients.
So i was wandering, Ive downloaded several FTP clients (filezilla being the best i've heard) so...what do you actually do? - It just looks like a rocket control panel to me...looks sooooooo complicated :gag:
Any chance of somebody nice () talking me through it? I would really appreciate it.:help:
Cheers

The company you're sending to sends you their FTP link and that's where you send it to...

Only used it a few times when sending to MGN and PA - normally as I said elsewhere I just send by email.
If you do have to send 100's of images to a client - as you might from a sports-event, then I suggest you contact them to find the best way of doing it.

Well, usually a GUI type FTP client has two windows - one is a list of files on your computer and the other is a list of files on the remote computer.

Click the connect button, type your username and password in, add the address of the server in, click ok.

Drag files from one window to the other.

Job done.

FTP is a lovely ancient thing, nothing new and fangled.

You will need the login details and password from the Agency before you can set it up correctly :) once you have that sorted its easy.

Also if you get yourself Photomechanic it has an FTP client built into it ;)

you pump the provided FTP server, username and password into the boxes at the top and hit connect.

then drag and drop the files accordingly..
