hi everyone
i got some nice
20x8" panoramic prints done with photobox a while ago, but didn't really think how i was going to frame them!

i'm looking to mount & frame them to sell, but unsure what dimensions/frame sizes to go for. i think i'm going to have to buy 'regular' dimension frames and cut my own weighted mounts?
maybe something like 24x18" frames...

any thoughts?

Go to your local framing people for advice - mine are excellent, reasonable and v helpful!

could do... but am not looking to buy from them, so wouldn't want to be cheeky knowing i'm not going to be giving them any business!

hmm wouldn't fit?
Holds 3 pictures 13x18 cm (5x7") or 1 picture 50x23 cm (19 3/4x9")

i'd like it to be mounted rather than fitting a frame exactly :)

If your cutting your own mounts then be sure to get a good mount cutter that allows for angled cuts and such like. I think they can be quite pricey.
Or you can buy precut mounts fairly cheap on the web.

My Mother paints things on occasions and she checks places like Matalan and Homebase as they often have frames going cheap.

cheers Tony... I've not found any 20x8" precut mounts online :( it's not a 'regular' size. it'd work out much cheaper to buy an angled mount cutter and my own board it think.... going to be the best part of £10 per mount i'd get cut for me at an art shop, which eats quite heavily into my profit :(

thanks for the frame ideas... i usually get mine from The Range, your mum could try there too

Lots of panoramic shots don't fit the fixed sizes offed by the printing companies - for all I knew the shots you had could well have had a white margin giving some scope for cropping.

Please forgive me for trying to help you - it's not a mistake i'll be making again :bang:

aaaaanyway...

if anyone else has framed some panoramic prints, look forward to hearing about them
