HTC Desire 2.3 (gingerbread)

I thought they were ditching the HTC sense part of the 2.3 upgrade for the Desire?
I've just installed it on my phone but it looks as though sense is still there!
Strangely though, the 2.3 seems to free up more memory by allowing more apps to be put on to the SD card.
Has anyone else updated to 2.3? Whats your thoughts if you have?

You can download the 2.3 RUU file from the developers website and install it on your PC.
That's how I'm running 2.3 now.

First it wasn't coming, then it was coming "for expert users only" without Sense and now it's Sense 2.1 with some "select" apps removed which I can't find a list of anywhere.

The over the air version of the update is still being worked on.

To be honest it seems like a right faff on and there isn't really anything on the 2.3 feature list that interests me so I think I might leave mine as it is.
