Well recently I started wondering why many of my pictures (when reviewed on the camera) looked 'flat'. So I reset the camera to factory settings and they'd look crisp and contrasty, overall much nicer. I don't know why I noticed this and why it even puzzled me.
It clicked last night though, factory settings put it to JPEG (which I dont want to use), producing JPEG the camera does its own bits of editing 'in-house'! When I clicked the camera back to RAW they were 'falt' and unedited once more.
Gah! Now I've got a right mixture of RAW and JPG files from the last couple of weeks.
I really can't understand why I suddenly noticed this (and wanted to change it), I've been shooting RAW for 3 years now and understand how it works.
