No
... for a local businesswoman. She wants some headshots doing for her website.

I have a couple of ideas, but Id like some more if anyone has any? She wants modern and funky, none of this old fashioned stuff in front of a marbled background.

Has anyone done such shots before? Would you mind posting some examples? :)

So she pretends to assist?? :D

Maybe get some office type backgrounds then put a layer with her head on and increase the tranparency so she looks like a hologram?

Without knowing the business it is difficult to be specific. However, the safe fall-back is always the local town centre or park. That sorts out the background. The other option is sitting at the desk. A lot depends on how she wants to come across. Powerful? Welcoming? etc.

A simple shot is outdoors/indoors with the background underexposed by half a stop to a stop. Then a reflector to light the face. This should convert well to black and white.

The other shot is to stand the subject in open shade with the unshaded background behind them. Over-expose the background by half a stop and use flash to light the subject. Effectively using the background as a low level rim light.

Look for an interesting wall and get the subject to stand side-on to it. Use a reflector or flash to highlight the subject and shoot down the wall. Shadows is the key here so you will need to try various angles and lighting to ensure you have something you are both happy with. If you really want to get creative with this then snoot the flash and selectively light the face.

Whatever you do, avoid hand to face shots ie chin on hand or pointed finger up the side of the cheek etc. They invariably end up looking like a cheap 70's studio shot :)
