No advice needed.. I just thought I would share. Has anyone else had this problem? I won't squish the little fella, since he'll just stay wherever I squish him.. he keeps appearing from the edge of the screen then running off again!

EDIT: I'm sorry, this is completely in the wrong section.. since he's in my PC monitor.. ooooops!

ooh nooo! Well it looks as though a couple have croaked it in my screen before too. Every time I'm retouching, I get the clone tool out before reminding myself after a few clicks that it's not on the actual photo!
 
It always happens this time of year. The thrips climb in through a convenient vent and lodge themselves in your monitor. I think people have tried gentle hoovering etc but not much you can do really!
 
I have 2 dead ones in my 24" monitor too, they appeared there about 3 months after i got the thing!

The amount of times I've tried to remove them in photoshop you wouldn't believe
 
I had one die in a monitor I still use a second about 7 years ago. Just looked now and it seems to have gone!

Just been looking around and one suggestion is to turn off the device and put a bright light or torch near the device to attract them out... don't know if it works or not.
 
I had a little bug in one of my dell monitors once. Of course, me being stupid I squashed it. Luckily for me, there was a guide on how to take it apart, so I did that and cleaned it off. I gained a few blotches of dust in the process but they weren't anywhere near as noticeable as a big red spot :p
 
not my photo, never seen them before but i was interested! now i know :D

Amazingly I found one crawling around in my monitor yesterday too.

I decided not to squish it as it would likely end up as a big smudge - thought it best to let it escape...

it didn't - it DIED!! :bang:

now it isnt gonna go away is it?!?!

Well I have good news and bad news - the good news is this - 'Yes it will eventually go away'

The bad news ?? - 'It'll take a long long long time to go away.'

I have a couple on my 20" imac, been there about three years and they've almost faded/dissolved now.
 
would be easy to clean, just watchout for dust like mentioned before. Dont touch anything electronic incase of shock. i recently had to take a 32"tv apart for my m-i-l and was surprised how easy it was to remove and change components.
 
Failing that a boil wash at 90 degrees should get rid of it.

The monitor may need re calibrating afterwards however.;)

i must admit ive never heard of this either
 
I remember reading about this a few years back, i've never had an issue though.i'll probably get one once i upgrade the monitor though!
