I have the money. Any reason not to buy the 24-70L?

slightly soft and barrel distortion at 24mm. but its an amazing lens, i love it to bits and would not replace it with any other

The only reason I can think is the rumour of the IS version supposedly on the way, but mine has been of my camera for about 20 minutes since I got it a month ago, its a great lens.

Mine is very sharp at 24mm, but slightly soft at 60-70mm

You won't regret it! My daughter and friend. Flash, 24-70 about 50mm, beautiful and the girls are too....!

depends if you are sure that's the range you want !

since I got my 17-35 2.8-4 Sigma, it's not been off my 5D2 ! I love it !

£33 well spent

I am in exactly the same position - currently have a 40D, will be getting a 5D MkII later this year (body only) and will be getting a 24-70 2.8 in the interim. My plan is that it will be the walk aroung lens for the 5D, but I can make use of it on the 40 in the meantime.

Still looking at prices to see where the best deal might be had, but I can feel an imminent purchase coming along when I find it.

I have 5D mk 2 and 24-70 L and can highly recommend both of them. :D
You won't be disappointed.

the 24-70 is a great lens on a crop or full frame. If you've got the cash there's no reason not to go for it :)
