Annoyed at myself as missed spot on the Golden Circle tour, so have had to take the South Shore tour, has anyone been on this please? Is it any good for photography?
thanks

What places does it go to? I think I did a golden circle tour when I was there, but can't remember. What I do remember is that the scenery there is great in all directions, of you're going on a less popular tour then use that as an opportunity to take some different pictures to everyone else!

thanks, found some photos on flickr of Skogafoss and looks cracking (although that now means I have to take my tripod!!)

(and good point Lewis!)

It's hard to go places in Iceland that aren't photogenic. If the light is good it is hard to choose where to spend your time.

If you're in Reykjavik there are several firms offering Golden Circle trips as a day trip. Pretty much every tourist going to Iceland will do it.

Wow, colour me jealous! One day that is a country I would love to visit and fill up some cards. Knowing my luck i'd arrive during a freak period of bad weather!

Thanks Mike, read very good things about the tour operator on Tripadvisor so will stick with the south tour. (Will post photos when back from there and San fransisco the week after! :D )

So does Reykjavik Excursions ;-) That's why we ended up going with them. Although at the end of the day, they're more or less all the same, and Iceland has pretty high standards so regardless of who you go with, you kinda can't go wrong. You'll see on the tour that there are loads of other tour buses on exactly the same route, doing exactly the same thing as yours.
