Edit My Images
Yes
Just taken a load of images with my new Canon 1D Mark iv. Images show when viewed in the camera, however have tried to upload them into my pc via Canon Zoom Browser and it tells me that there are no images to download to the card. Have tried looking at the card via My Computer, and whilst the drive is recognised, again no images are showing up. I have downloaded all the software that came with the camera - or at least I think I have. Anybody got any ideas??

Have you got a memory card in the second card slot ?
They could be there if you have.

Pictures taken as both RAW and JPEG. Raw on CF card, JPEG on SD card. I amtrying to view the images using the card slot on my pc. Works fine for my 1D mk iin and my wife's 7D.

Have just tried uploading with the SD card and card reader. Shows the JPEG files. However, when I try to do the same with the CF card it does not recognise any image files. I am shooting using ADOBE RGB colour space

They should show in either DPP or ZoomBrowser they both show RAW images.

Have you tried to uploaded them using the cable from the camera to computer or just using a card reader. (just to check the reader is not faulty)

I maybe a faulty card, so I'd try one of the card recovery programs like Image Rescue from Lexar (version 3 is a free download)

Thanks for all the helpful comments. I have now uploaded all the JPEG images, so at least I have something, but am beginning to suspect that I have not set the camera up properly to record RAW. Instruction manual assumes you have a degree in computer science, but will persevere in the hope that I can resolve the problem. In the meantime, any help more than welcome.

You might need the latest software to view the raw images. Are you using the software that came with the 1DIV or the older version?

Hi Jim
Have loaded the latest software that came with the camera. I think my problem is in setting the camera up toproperly so that it records RAW on the CF card, and JPEG on the SD card. Instruction manual is doing my head in!

It took me a while to sort this out but

In Record func+media/folder sel.
You want to set it to Rec. separately .... not as I thought Rec. to multipe

Mine defaults to RAW on the CF and Jpeg to the SD (but that may just because I set it that way in the past, but you can chose what ever you want.)

Thank you so much. I had my settings to record multiple as you rightly identified, and now I have set record separately all my problems have been solved. The user manual is quite difficult to understand at times, but it was also probably due to my eagerness to use the camera that I did not read it properly.
Thank you once again. I am constantly heartened by the willingness of others - like yourself - to help solve problems.
regards
