Sorry if you guys were offended by my answer,
I can assure you none was intended.
It may however been a little short as I was just heading out the
door of my hotel room for food.
So, let me expand a little, kestrels are more of a mottled rusty-brown,
The males have a grey cap.
Lanners are females, males are Lannerettes
The females are a little heavier (by about a 1/3)
typically I fly males at around 1lb
The females at around 1lb. 8oz.
Although they retain the gingery cap
female colours are more muted.
Unfortunately I have no way of up loading to the lap top, or I'd nip to the
Van and post a picture of the Lannerette that fast asleep in there.
