If you were to start over...

I'd honestly replace all my glass like for like (Fuji 23 1.4, 18-55, 56, and 10-24) and replace the body (X-T2) with an X-T3.

I've switched systems a ridiculous amount of times (M4/3, APSC, FF) and Fuji is without a doubt the one I've enjoyed most.

The only other system I would consider is Sony, but I'd not be able to replace the equivalent lenses and body for the cost of the Fuji, and also I've shot Sony before (A6000) and as much as I know the colour output has changed since then I didn't get on with the Sony colours at all.

Seems like an even split between people sticking with what they have and people changing systems. Just wondering how 'locked in' people feel with current kit and not taking a 'hit' on selling the lot to switch.

For me Canon seem to have big gaps in their body line up but have a great lens range! If I were to start over I would probably switch to sony, but miss the canon glass!!

Hi Tony, it's so easy to get 'sucked in' by spec sheets with modern cameras that people convince themselves that Camera 'A' is better than Camera 'B'..

I am a Nikon shooter and always have been - personally I wouldn't change my Digital Nikon and probably wouldn't replace it if it did get stolen (Nikon D4).

I have been watching the New Canon mirrorless thread and whilst the spec sheet probably isn't as stunning as the Sony the pictures being showing on the latest thread are simply stunning! what hits me most is the colours look fantastic:

When I look at the pictures from the Sony cameras the colours just look massively over saturated and un natural to me, granted this may be PP but I really don't like them:

I was going to say this on the Sony forum but as soon as you suggest anything that isn't pro-Sony you just get called a troll :-(

I don't have GAS and although there's a couple of items I'd like to add to my kit, I don't feel it's tremendously lacking.

I'm currently a Fuji user (having moved from Canon a few years ago). I think I would stick with the same brand but maybe try and get newer models for better video features.

I'd go the Pen-F with all my kit again

I think you're placing too much importance on a few pictures. If you don't like the colours in pictures taken by some people with some kit have a look around the net and if they're all like that then it's the gear and if they're not it's something else. Personally, I don't think it's the gear as clearly they're not all like that.

And the fanboy accusation isn't true of just the Sony thread Fraser. There are always a few in any thread and being honest IMO you've gone out of your way to provoke a reaction multiple times in multiple threads. If you were to ask questions or state your point or opinion in a less argumentative and aggressive way and I'm sure you'll get more favorable and more helpful responses.

I would stick with my current Sony kit, why accept anything less by moving back to DSLR technology ;) :D

We shoot RAW because it’s exactly that, a RAW capture.
Things like colour, sharpness, exposure can be fine-tuned in post etc, I don’t think comparing users individual photos on here is a credible way to compare file outputs.
Everybody’s file tastes differ and that’s was makes our images more unique, there are plenty of videos/reviews online which prefer the Sony RAW files over competitors, who is actually right?

It’s clear you prefer DSLR technology over mirrorless, stick with whatever works for you [emoji4]
Just accept that DSLR is no longer the king..... that status belongs to the Sony A9 [emoji1] lol

It doesn't matter if you use the king or queen camera category, if your work doesn't up to par means it is end user problem, period.

Of course it matters, for example if a DSLR AF system can’t focus bang on a persons eye easily, you’ll have to do it manually thus costing you both time and effort.
Mirrorless makes it easier with Eye-AF and other advantages.
So I think camera choice plays a big part in capturing images easily. [emoji4]
But yes, the end user needs some input into creating the image too.
Mirrorless is the future ........

Sounds like end user first world problem.

It can be easy on both ends, but end user error means couldn't get the picture they want :D

Easier on a mirrorless with Eye-AF, it just works which on a DSLR you’d have to move around the AF point onto the eye. Try this on a young child and it’ll prove even more difficult on a DSLR.
Setup two systems, one DSLR and one Mirrorless with Eye-AF and compare the time saved.

Couldn't speak of mirrorless with eye-AF but I have no problems with 5D Classic + 50mm 1.4 :p

It’s not really a problem though, just a choice [emoji6]
The hard way, or easy way.
Its a hobby for most of us here. If I wanted to avoid time and effort, I would take up watching Jeremy Kyle.

My camera gear isn't worth a great deal anyway, but I'd be happy if it stretched to a decent Leica M3 or M4 body. I'd happily save for a lens to go with it!

FWIW, I have a DSLR and my wife has a compact, but I've never liked either of them very much. I prefer my old F2 and FM. Nothing to do with the image quality, I just enjoy using them more.
