Only for an hour or so though, got a job on Tuesday photographing some prisoners that have been doing charity work, I'll need to remember to take my file and bolt cutters out the camera bag!!

Bare in mind that a double-convex lens element chipped down like a flint axe would make a top-class blade, and if properly utilised a capacitor out of a flash could immobilise a guard for a respectable amount of time. A time-hardened inmate could make any number of creative shivs from your gear so keep it very close to hand.

wtf?!?!?! we have an ex-con amongst us! lol
Pah, the A team could make a fully functioning escape vehicle with weapons. Probably a potato bazooka from a canon 100-400![]()

Hi,
Used to be a Prison Officer and it is indeed unusual to allow photography 'inside' for security reasons. It will depend on the Governor and how many brownie points he/she comes out of it with!
Remember you could be searched going in [and out], drugs dogs are often about and some nicks have 'orifice scanners'....
If I had a camera I could have taken some shots that people would never believe, nick can be a very very strange place to work! Ah the stories I could tell.
It is a male prison I take it?
Dunc
