and going to try the hardest shot to get in my life :)

We came two years ago, there is a shipwreck one mile out at the shark wall. It's not quite as good as last time we came due to erosion I guess. Last time we came six of us walked out there, it took us an hour and a half because when you get quite far the bottom is full on sea erchans so you have to go very slow, to be honest the distance is decieving, it doesn't look as far as it is and had we known it was that far I don't think we would have ever bothered.

Anyway today I had a great idea of Cayley and I getting a pedelo and going out to it, well that was shockingly tiring for two people that aren't that fit. As exausted as I was when I got back I have made it my mission to get out there when the sun is going down. The reason being I want to get and exposure of at least two seconds of the shipwreck. I can take my tripod because its not that deep. the place where you hire the pedalo's shuts at 5pm and sunset is about 7pm. I don't know how im going to do it but I will (hopefully:)) Its worth the stuggle for the end result!

I just thought id share that with you guys and girls, I was also getting withdrawl symptons from not going on TP. :D

I will share the photo in this thread when I get back, ill keep you posted.

I won't be able to reply to anything today, internets damn expensive over here!

Regards from Egypt,

Luke

HI Luke - look forward to seeing it ;-) but that d700 and salt water won't mix though

Cheers

Hugh

Good on you mate good to see your going that extra bit for that great capture. I taken my camera out lots of times in the middle of flowing rivers and the sea to get that shot but just make sure you have it round your neck at all times. Once I was up to my chest in a river with my D200 but think I would be a little bit more worried now I have a D3

Really looking forward to see the results on this one.

good luck!

2+ miles on a pedalo = REMEMBER LOTS OF SUNCREAM

I expect results immedietly after capture!:D

Slip the pedalo dude a few quid, I'm sure he'll let you keep hold of it a while longer

Maybe hire an ourboard motor too? :p

Get a Seadoo RXT-X you will be there and back in about 5 mins

I got up at 5:30 this morning for a couple of sunrise shots im happy with. I don't have any filters so its a bit tricky.

Anyway im still trying to formulate a plan of how to get to the shipwreck, justs o you guys know though its super shall at the wreck. I gets to chest deep half way out but then shallow again. I wouldn't take the camera unless I knew it was going to be safe :).

Im not sure hiring a motorised vechicle is going to work because its sooooo shallow in places. I might ask the workers if they know a good route.

Also, I don't think paying them extra money will work because all the workers are so scared of their managers because working for/with the hotels is such a good job. It's worth asking though :).

Anyway thats it for now, Cayley and I are going to hire a quadbike this afternoon, try and get up in the deseart a bit to get a good shot of the mountains. Their a b****r to capture though because there is man made crap all around.

Over and out.

Pictures sound like they are going to be cracking mate, nice one.
Word of warning with the quadbike, ring your insurance company! Holiday to Zante last year me and the ex came off and she fractured her spine and we got two fingers from the insurers because we didnt call them first.

Oops too late but I survived and I got some good shots I think.....they never seem as good when you get them back home though :(

If you haven't done it yet be careful on the pedalo , while the idea of a spectacular sunset is nice pedaling back in the dark doesn't sound so much fun

Hows the temperature there - bearable?

Off on my own excursion (Milan) in morning - relying on aircon to get me though tbh!

What part of Egypt are you in Luke? I'm slightly jealous although it was far too hot for me when I was there in August.

Enjoy.

Every time i see/hear of Egypt i think of the pyramids and wonder if its possible to climb them:shrug: It looks it from what ive seen in pictures the blocks look about 1 meter or so high i just wonder if its allowed:rules:

Now that would be a photo op.

can you find out for me and have a good time hope you get your shots Luke and have a nice time

Dave:thumbs:

The temperature is bearable, not too bad. Im in Sharm el Sheike.

Unfortunatly I don't think I am going to get my shot, no one will take me at that time and there is no way I can do it safely by myself :(. Its ok though, I have about 4 landscapes I think im going to be happy with, one straight out the camera which is a first for me. Tomorrow im going to get up and sunrise again to try and get a couple more. I think I could have done alot better if my longest lens wasn't 50mm! Anyway anything I get is a bonus because this was meant to be a strictly chilling out holiday. Im trying to pursuade Cayley to do a photoshoot later so we'll see how that goes.

Im back tuesday at 2am so their should be some pics up tuesday afternoon :)

P.S The first thing im going to do when i get back is invest in a 10 stop filter so I can do long exposures in daylight, will make life a bit easier.
