imac help

I have iphoto and itunes librarys stored on an external usb hard drive and have just returned home with a lovely 27" imac (early Christmas present for myself) what is the best way of getting these 2 librarys set up on my new mac??

I also have Aperture 2 to install would you advise using this for image library rather than iphoto if so is there a way of importing all my existing images from iphoto into aperture??

For iTunes, just connect up the external drive as normal and when you fire up iTunes for the first time, choose File > Add to library...

This will then let you navigate to the folder on the USB drive that has your music in and import it. Be sure, however, to go to the advanced option in preferences and update the location of your media folder for saving imported music.

For iPhoto (which I don't use I have to admit), try this

I do belive that there is an import feature for Iphoto libs into Aperture, I would recomend using Aperture over Iphoto but watch the size of the Lib's. I now split mine down into several smaller chunks each held seperately.
