Does anyone know of any decent image resizing software for images going on to websites. Ideally with the ability to do batch jobs

Also any software to rename images

You can do both with Irfan Viewer. I'm using it for resizing and renaming all my web content.

I use ifranview too for resizing and thumbnail creation. Don't forget the loselss rotation plugin too.

EasyThumbnails is excellent, free and does large batches.

Does a fantastic job of reducing file size with almost no visible loss of quality.

Set the JPEG quality to 85% and use the smart algorithm.
