HELP!! Something odd has happened to my 50D and don't know what.

When I am in TV mode, I am unable to change the aperture setting. It keeps flashing on wide open (2.8 for my macro and 4.5 for my UWA)

The dials are all working OK as in manual I can adjust both aperture and shutter speed. I can adjust the aperture in AV mode, but TV seems odd. Don't know what has happened - It worked fine the other day when I had it set to f11.

The switch is fully round - I've fallen foul of that before!

Sure it's not the contacts else I wouldn't be able to adjust all features in other modes.

What the hell is going on?

Ta:thumbs:

Erm...that is the idea of TV mode, you set the shutter speed, it sets the aperture, as with AV mode you cant set the shutter speed, just the aperture.

If you want to be able to change both shutter speed and apperature use Manual mode Sara :)

The fact that the aperture is continually flashing Sara is usually a warning that your current settings can't meet the prevailing light conditions. Possibly you have the shutter speed set too fast and even when the camera chooses the widest aperture - f2.8 in this case, the shot will still be under-exposed which is what the camera is trying to tell you. The solution should be to select a slower shutter speed or increase the ISO sensitivity. :)

Light hair shouldn't be a requirement for being blond. There isn't enough peroxide in the world to account for my stupidity.

What was "that" thread?

I've got to admit, I thought this was a joke when I first read it, but I tried helping anyway with the lens cap removal suggestion :D
