Hi,
I am doing AS photography and my final piece has to be in by the end of january. My theme is nature and I have taken some pictures really love, however you cannot use pictures you've already takne for your final piece. I am at a loss of what to photograph as most plants are dead and there isn't really anything to photograph. I have previously photographed mushrooms, nice leaves, flowers etc. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Death is a part of nature. Why not photograph the struggle plants and animals are having in the harsh cold & snow.

Nature, in the broadest sense, is equivalent to the natural world, physical world, or material world. "Nature" refers to the phenomena of the physical world, and also to life in general. It ranges in scale from the subatomic to the cosmic.
Its a very wide subject

And the florists are open :)

There are still a number of fallen leaves around, bark has amazing texture, shells off the beach can be amazing structures..

There's still plenty of wildlife about. Small birds are easier to photograph now due to the lack of foliage. Try lifting an old log and you'll find slugs, snails, woodlice etc. Or how about frost patterns, patterns in ice. It's all nature.

Cool thankyou guys. I jsut felt I needed some ideas to help me get started, you've all had some great ideas. I'm going to go to Pensthorpe at the weekend as they have a lot of ducks etc so should get some good pictures

Get out ASAP and practice shooting at a different time of day to usual/ straight up or down/ manufacture shots by placing a natural element in a constructed environment.

Shoot cows (as leather in people's shoes), hemp (as eco shopping bags). **** it, go to your local tip and photograph the seagulls feasting off Christmas excess :D

Although Nature doesn't look its best at this time of year, I would still advise heading out early one morning and catching the lovely winters sunrisen light. Its the best!
Any nature object will be lit wonderfully and whether its dieing or living it will help you in your photography!

might help if you start jotting some ideas down, think of everything to do with nature, then maybe think outside the box, things that you dont think of straight way.

forget shooting photographs of a tree on a sunny day.... look a bit deeper than that.
I feel your pai though, when i was at uni the open projects were always the hardest as you have too much choice it overwhelms you.
