Hey Guys n Gals
I have just completed installing windows on my newly aquired netbook. I had a thought that many of you on here have invested in these recently - and some come with Linux/XP Home meaning you may want to install a different OS. This is a realy mare without an external cd drive (I lost mine
) and after spending most of the day playing I found this solution:
linky that I thought I would share incase anyone else needs it! It basically makes you a USB boot drive including the windows XP files to setup. All you need is a fairly fast USB drive about 1 gig in size and it enables you to boot and setup XP all from the USB.
The one issue I did find was make sure in the DOS program you select if you are using a USB Pen or a USB Hardrive as this affects the drive letter allocation when it comes to install.
Hope all of you on here find it plain sailing but thought I would post - even if it helps just one person.
