Eileen has dropped her favourite lens, the 28-200 sigma and its making a bit of a racket when trying to focus so it looks like a claim on our insurance.
Has anyone ever made a claim through E&L and is it painless or do they drag their heels as I have been trying to contact them by phone with no luck and the online claim form is for horse insurance?
 
I was a home insurance advisor/claims coordinator a while ago and we did deal with Equine and Livestock. They were a bit funny at times but they pay out! Make sure you read the policy in detail and make sure you read the claim form. Fill in EVERY question even if it is not relevant, if that is the case put N/A or NONE etc. PM me if you want any specific advice.
 
Sorry but not sure what the claims process is like, but will be watching this with intrest as I am with them, so will be intresting to see how you get on incase I ever have to claim.

how much is your excess on the policy ?? , plus think about how much it is going to put up your premiums by next renewal , just things to think about :) , what is the value of the lens ??

No probs. Do the post above needs consideration too. How much is the lens NEW to replace and how much is the excess. Do they still make the lens? What is the nearest if they don't. And isn't that D1x lovely :)
 
Well it seems they dont work sundays even the emergency claim line is unattended, and Paul theres no excess on our policy and this will be our first clam in 3 years
 
The D1X got its first proper outing today and I can safely say Eileen loves it, it just oozes quality
 
Just phoned E&L and that was pretty straight forward the form is on its way with instustions on how to make the claim
