Rather pleased to say that Photoguard have agreed to cover Julian's Camera and Lens combo for the first year for him. A very generous gesture on their part. :)

Darren, Stewart, Rob or Wheels, can you please Pm me with the model and serial numbers of the camera and lens and I'll try to sort the cover for you tomorrow?

Thanks :D

Nice one Photoguard, well done Ali.

Great work. PM sent. Do you want to insure the SB900? I dont have the serial number yet as Nikon havent sent me the stock yet.

Stuart

I'll ask when I speak to the nice people tomorrow Stewart. :)

Very generous of them.

I need to get some insurance for my kit before I go away again... will be having a look at PhotoGuard now.

Bloody hell Thank you very much in deed, I have had trouble today with my contents insurance, ending in me cancelling the policy, I have to put it in writing , which Ive not done yet.

Thank you and thank them so much

That's excellent news, I will be asking them for a quote for my insurance just because of their generosity to Julian, well done Alison for sorting this out...

They already have my custom but I'm sure they'll get a few more customers after this gesture.

I will help with your normal contents tomorrow if you like. I did get a quote from Direct Line which was pretty cheap but we will speak then...

I've been umm-ing and arr-ing about who to insure with, but they'll definitely be getting my business now, that's a lovely gesture.....big well done to both Alison and Photoguard!!:clap::clap:

I'm hoping all our commercial partners get some extra business from this...

Photoguard - Free years insurance - Brilliant gesture.

Digital Depot - Going well beyond normal levels of service, lots of freebies and the kit at pretty much cost. Even rang Nikon and Manfrotto's importer to get them on board !

Flash in the pan - One man band but still dug deep and gave completely free, flash cord, inbuilt flash difuser, SB900 LCD cover, radio remotes and a flash/umbrella arm.

Studio 1 Ltd - These are Manfrotto's importers and have given us an arm and a clamp

Car Computer Ltd - Free postage on the Monitor.

Nikon - Reduced price on the SB900

How many poeple will be attending the handover?

Stuart ( not Stewart as Ali keeps spelling it ;))

I am not sure.

If everyone who wanted to did then it would make it rather difficult to park within about a mile! I think it would be best to check with Wheels first to see how many people he can cope with first !!

THEN

We arrange a local meet to Wheels for a proper gathering of everyone who would have wanted to go. By that time Wheels will have had chance to learn how to use his kit and get some pictures.

Good idea:thumbs:

Like I said I think Wheels should decide...

Stuart has the camera and I've got the rest of the stuff so I think we need to be on the list, Rob can't make it. :)

I can't speak for anyone else but I for one would be pleased with seeing perhaps a photo diary of Julian being presented with his kit by a few of the key people who made this happen. Iain

:agree::agree:

Julian keeps saying that he gets embarassed so I think that the main players should hand the tackle over and put up a photo or 2 of the occasion.

What was the total and what did we end up getting for Julian?

Been out of touch for a couple of days and can't seem to get in to the second thread for some reason.

You will need to look for the thread directly as if you are trying to get into it via a link from an email then you might find that that particular post has been removed.

We have more money, free insurance and a tripod (to be disassembled) to add to the list

I have had insurance on my mind for some time. I will be looking @ Photoguard first

also been thinking about insurance

i've been on photoguards site and they'll be getting my business

its always worth checking the small print, I know of one person who had gear nicked from a locked room but didnt get the payout..insurance companies will always look for a get-out
