Interior House Photography

Can anyone please point me in the general direction of some tips for interior house photography please. e.g is it better to go for HDR or try and light with off camera flash that type of thing. I tried a search but kept coming up with the business side of things rather than the technique

Keep all the lights in the room on.
Get down low, use a wide angle lens and aim to one of the corners of the room.
Use some of camera flash, hidden behind furniture.
