Pretty powerfull but that wide lens is an annoying accesory to loose anywhere anytime out shooting.

Do you mean the diffusing dome, Soeren?
No, the wide lens, allowing wide spread to 14mm eq with the zoom set to 35mm
From the user manual
www.profoto.com
Wide Lens
The Wide Lens is used when a wider light spread is needed, for example
when using super wide lenses. The built in zoom function of the A1 unit
will still work which means beam angle can be adjusted from super
wide to wide light spread.

Am I missing something? Seems more like a way over priced speedlight! Too high end for me perhaps

Looks a very nice flash. About the same power as an old Metz 45 hammerhead too, but in a smaller hot-shoe-mountable package. [Googles up the price] Ouch! Think I'll stick with my handful of Metz 45s and 60s and a flashmeter...

Nah I think you've got it, consider for a moment if you're in a Profoto studio, a few thousand on some speedlights and accessories is no big deal to you and it might even be worth it for the added convenience of one system.

It's a little over 50% more than the most expensive offerings from Canon or Nikon, it doesn't sound too bad when you put it like that.
